Bio: |
Irene Mendonis has been creating art since she was 7 when her parents first started her out with oil painting lessons. It was then that she began her love affair of art. In high school she took Advanced Placed art classes and also took her first ceramics class, and it was from there that sculpture became her primary focus. After high school, she attended Otis College of Art and Design where she received her Bachelor?s in Fine Art Sculpting, with an emphasis in Toy Design.
Since college, she has spent the last nine years sculpting prototypes for major toy companies, such as Fisher Price, Playmates, Hasbro, Disney, Bandai, just to name a few. She has also been involved in the production of limited sculpture releases from fine artists such as Kathie Olivas, Brandt Peters, Andrew Bell, The Pizz, and Gary Baseman, just to name a few.
Currently, she is a project manager for Mana Studios, a freelance sculptor for Pretty in Plastic, a muralist, a displaying artist at many shows across the nation, and a curator. She thrives on new inspiration, wearing many hats, and is excited to work with as many new artists as she can in her lifetime.
